Little Book of Information Design From Analogue To Digital And Back
2020-present
Little Book of Information Design: From Analogue to Digital and Back is a visual exploration of how sound can be documented, inspired by my residency experience. This project captures a diverse range of sounds - whether environmental, musical, or otherwise - and translates them into visual forms, bridging the gap between auditory and visual perception.
The book traces the journey from analogue to digital methods of documenting sound, reflecting on the tools and techniques used throughout the residency to capture and represent soundscapes. Through a combination of drawings, graphic design, and visual notation, I explore the relationship between sound and its visual counterpart, illustrating how different technologies and mediums can shape the way we perceive and interact with auditory experiences.
By merging analogue and digital design methods, Little Book of Information Design emphasizes the fluidity between the tactile, hand-drawn techniques of the past and the precision of modern digital tools. This project not only showcases the process of documenting sound but also invites the viewer to reconsider the act of listening through a visual lens, highlighting the transformation of sound documentation across different media and contexts.
